You either play by yourself or with others there is no requirement, and i doubt these developers would make it a co-op focused experience as some other titles have in the past. All I ever see is selfishness from people who just want one thing, and nothing else even though it would add great value to something they play, and genuinely enjoy spending time with. If the game was developed from the ground up as a cooperative experience between 2-8 players yes you would see an impact on systems in the game to either balance the added players or create inherent difficulty because the developers want participation from players banding together to overcome challenges.Īdding co-op prolongs a games longevity, creates communities, and fosters great memories among players to share with one another.
Co-op doesn't take away from the core experience.

It's up to the developers how they want to add a multiplayer experience be it something simple, dynamic or a full fledged co-op experience with others. What's the point of creating something genuine yourself, and not having a way of sharing it or even showing it to friends? The co-op experience can be done in multitude of ways, and your generic take on having extra hands at your disposal is toxic at the very least. This is always the dumbest take on this topic.
I can't really see them adding in a co-op feature ruining the direction of the game but whatever, you do you. So to summarise You don't want others to be able to play with friends because you don't want to play with friends and somehow them playing with their friends will negatively impact your time in the game? Originally posted by a.j:One of the things I most liked about the first one is that feeling of solitude and peace that you get as you venture into the unknown and you're out there exploring by yourself surrounded by slimes, and in fact I know that's part of the charm of the game and part of the story, since you're supposed to be all alone in The Far Far Range, away from the big cities and away from everyone and your problems, like that's the point of the game. Should they add co-op to slime rancher? Nope xD It has way too small ammount of content to play with and i would rather like to receive 2-3 times larger suquel instead of something like "Subnautica Below Zero" which is just a reskin-joke compared to original. Nope, it was amazing unique game, very fun in coop. Vindictus EU, which changed hack-n-slash formula in europe to allow 4 players at once instead of 1. Titan Quest after anniversary revival and new servers? Nuupe. I don't know a single game that became worse after multiplayer addition. Majority have no splitscreen and can't be cut in half manually via local multiplayer or have multiplayer issues like Sun Haven, or unreleased like My Time at Sandrock. And none of them as big as Stardew Valley. I am a big fan of co-op farming, yet there are less than 5 games of this type. Originally posted by a.j:Even though there's a bazillion coop and multiplayer games already.Nope, there are very small ammount of coop games in farming genre.
PS: If you're gonna post comments about how I'm so wrong and you're so right, don't bother I won't read them, also don't be rude or resort to insults, I will report you.

If much later down the line you feel you've added everything you could to the game and you guys feel you want to add coop as a bonus, then feel free to do so, as that will probably attract new customers when the sales have already slowed down, if not then it's okay. Just remember that WE the single-player only crowd might not be as loud but we're here and we're the majority of players of this Singleplayer experience. That's why devs always have to shorten, dilute and dumb down their games to accommodate development time for multiplayer which in turn makes the game worse, just to please that crowd. The "loud people" always ask for coop and multiplayer for all games, (Even though there's a bazillion coop and multiplayer games already)Īnd they will always threaten you with: i wOn'T bUY tHE gAeM iF yOu dON'T dO wHAT i SaY!1! Just don't give into the pressure and the hate, stick to your vision, the people who really like Slime Rancher for what it is, will understand and enjoy it.
